Oh I can relate to nearly all of this Francis. But not putting sun lotion on your back! I hope your back and your nerves have recovered. I’m sure they’ll have very fond memories of it in the future.
Yep, I can relate to all of this! The boat trip to Symi when we nearly drowned, the near death experience when my son was washed out to sea on a surfboard, the tears when my daughter's boyfriend dumped her by text....been there, worn the tee shirt. We are all about to go on a family holiday together again, which now includes babies, toddlers, opinionated thirty year olds, a son and daughter-in-law. What could possibly go wrong?
Oh wow !!! That definitely trumps my mini saga!! Thank god you all lived to tell the tale!!! An extended family holiday with toddlers and all 😆😆 you are brave ! Just make sure you at least get a few breaks 😁
I never even thought of that !!! Yes I can imagine that must be very difficult, as at the end of the day you are still mum. Another thing I’ve got to look forward too 😆
Oh dear, a lot of that sounds very familiar - especially the way in which 2 children, given 2 options, can always be guaranteed to want to do the opposite of their sibling...
That was a really fun read Francis, even if the inspo behind it wasn't! Big fan of the guy just dropping recent volcanic eruptions into the conversation like it was no big deal.
Well done on the adventure Francis! I’m equal parts jealous and anxious about it 🤣 I feel you on the photo thing. I can’t take them anymore because it’s so bloody complicated.
Loved this. And funny. I feel sorry for you. Your kids are at the age where they don't treat their parents so nice and then they get to 36 and are like I miss my mommy. Lol. Trust me it's true.
As painful as your trip was, this was a total hoot to read. I honestly love stories that involve gripes and rows. I know it sucks when it's happening, but it makes for an amusing story afterwards.
My goodness, how cruel, not putting lotion on your back?
And that coach trip? Nightmare.
I had a tortuous 28 hours coach journey once, from Boston to Jacksonville, Florida. My bag went missing en route and for my first few days I had to borrow my uncle's clothes. I was 18, my first year of uni, and my uncle is nearly 7 foot tall, I'm not joking. I didn't want to leave the house until my bag arrived.
I’m pmsl at this , so funny , a 7 foot uncle and you had to wear his clothes 😂😂 I’m so glad you liked this story as to be honest, I think it’s the worst thing I’ve ever written 🫣😂😂 I wasn’t sure if to post it , I thought it was really boring 😏😳😆my mum convinced me it’s not.
I kind of didn’t mind too much - it gave me the perfect excuse to just sit around in his baggy clothes and watch loads of MTV - this was a long time ago when that was still a cool thing to do.
This post is anything BUT boring, it’s nowhere near the worst thing you’ve ever written (I don’t think you’ve ever written anything remotely bad!), it’s terrific. Your mum is a very wise woman 😁

Hehe, typical kids , oh they had the best time ever !! They will definitely have good memories 😆😆
Oh my gosh they wouldn’t put sun lotion on you?! The heathens!
I know, little sods !!!! 😂😂
I know, right?
Hilarious, Francis! Great piece.
Thank you Mandy 😃 Part two next week 😁😅
Can’t wait!
🤗

I will try. It's also hard going from being a ‘mum’ and organiser of everything to being an equal party amongst seven adults.

Always Matt ! It was worse when they were younger , especially being opposite sex ! 🤦🏻♀️😂😂 thanks for reading.
looks beautiful but omg that bus trip sounds like my absolute nightmare 🫠
Haha, thanks Ruby , it would have been ok if I had a proper seat 🤦🏻♀️😂
Teenagers are barbarians disguised as children. This is a fact.
I agree ! 😆

Haha, Lewis, I could see the smoke bellowing out and did panic for a bit 😱😆
Oh the joy of helping teenage daughters take ‘natural’ photos of them looking wistfully in the distance! I remember that!
Hahaha, it’s a bloody nightmare , then there are all the pouting selfies ! 😆

Haha, glads it’s not just me ! Kids are so weird these days 😆

Thank you 😃 I hope so 🤞 let’s see !!! They are typical stroppy teenagers right now 🫣😂😂

Baggy clothes , MTV 😂😂😂 thanks for the confidence boost 🤗
Gah. Eventful, but not in the way you'd planned is the hallmark of a memorable holiday, even if it's partly torture at the time!
Haha , the kids will have great memories Wendy ! I on the other hand, am still recovering 😳😆
Fabulous post Francis - I was wondering how your trip was going... and now I know!
Loved your title - took me back to the 'Carry On' days - was expecting to read about some Italian Lothario trying his luck with you by the pool 🆘🙈🤣.
A seven hour coach trip - WTF were you thinking - looking forward to part two xx
Hahaha! Mark I wish , and that is your dirty mind 🫣😂 it didn’t even cross my mind that my title could come across smutty - a bit ‘Carry on’ ish 😂😂
If I didn't know you better - I'd assume you were pulling my leg 🤣😂
😂😂😂 you do know me , and yep therefore you know I’m telling the truth ! I do have a dirty mind but obviously not as dirty as yours 😆
